在网易公开课上看到了亚利桑那大学公开课的一个讲座——《语言学讲座》，演讲者是乔姆斯基。
他说“What is special about language? And how is it different, if at all from everything else we do. One possibility, in fact, the simplest answer is that nothing is special about language. It's just a kind of random, arbitrary selection from things we are doing all the time.”(译文：语言的特别之处是什么?如果有的话，语言和我们的其他行为有什么不同呢?实际上，最简单的一个答案，可能是语言没什么特别之处。语言只是从我们一直以来的行为中，做出的一种随机而任意的选择。)
